Host a Fundraiser

The CanWES goal of raising $30,000 per year is a continuous challenge. We have been very lucky in the past to have friends of CanWES host fundraisers in an attempt to help us reach our annual goals. If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser and volunteering your time to raise money for the Canadian World Education Society please contact us at: – or call 250-661-3226.

Hanging Basket Fundraiser

In 2012, CanWES was successful in their goal of putting a smile on the faces of mothers in our community, as well as raising funds for the Everest English School in Nepal. Over 365 Hanging Baskets were sold during this year's Mother's Day Hanging Basket Fundraiser. Once again, CanWES would like to thank everyone who purchased hanging baskets for their support. As well, CanWES is continuously grateful to C&C Growers for their annual support with creating these beautiful hanging baskets. If you're interested in purchasing a hanging basket in the future, please contact Troy in February of 2013 to place an order. Thank you in advance for your support.

CanWES fourth Annual Charity Golf Tournament

After creating more options for golfers including either playing 9 or 18 holes, or simply joining us for dinner and a silent auction, CanWES held another successful tournament. July 5th, 2012 marked the 4th Annual CanWES Charity Golf Tournament. Record numbers of supporters joined us at Olympic View Golf Course to hit some balls, have some laughs and take in a touch of magic! Special thanks to magician Camilo Dominguez for providing endless, mind-blowing entertainment! All proceeds from our Annual Charity Golf Classic is shared between students in both Nepal and Canada. If you would like to participate in or donate to next year's tournament in any way (including playing golf, becoming a Major or Hole Sponsor, donating to the prize table or silent auction) please visit our website periodically for updates regarding the Fifth Annual CanWES Charity Classic. fundraiser Recent students of Lee Phillips Gr. 10 French Class at Belmont High School created custom "students helping students" bracelets to sell in order to generate funds for CanWES. To date, they've raised a total of $1,800. This simple but effective fundraiser will help to pay the annual salary of one staff member at the Everest English School in Sanitar ... truly remarkable.

Marie Bates, principal at the Children's Garden School in Toronto, put forth the idea of raising money for CanWES to her "Principal's Club" members and they were excited. The students spent time learning about Nepal as well as raising funds for the Everest English School. The Students are entirely committed to the children of Nepal and really want to make a difference. Throughout the 2011/12 school year, the Principal's Club held numerous fundraisers including bake sales, movie nights, a Valentine Sale which involved the making and selling of beautiful Valentine cards, and a Pancake Breakfast for the CGS families who ate breakfast together in the gym. At this event, the members of the Principal's Club acted as greeters, servers and cleaners. Young people making a difference in changing the world on the other side of the planet - amazing!
